CanmetMINING requires this equipment to remove slimes as low as 10 micrometers and in certain instances lower than 25 micrometers. This process is required to done prior to flotation of rare earth elements etc. The hydrocyclone must meet all of the mandatory technical requirements as specified below and the mandatory evaluation criteria as specified at Part 2.1 - Mandatory Technical Evaluation Criteria. Mandatory Technical Requirements The requirement must work and operate at all times in accordance with the following mandatory technical requirements and the mandatory evaluation criteria as specified below at Part 2.1 Mandatory Technical Evaluation Criteria. Hydrocyclone ? Must be Kreb ? Must have a typical separation range for particles of 15 micrometers in size. ? Half inch and 2 inch cyclone sizes. ? Made of sectionalized metal housings fitted with replaceable molded liners of abrasion resistant elastomers, ceramics or alloys. ? Involuted feed entry to minimize turbulence in the hydrocyclone. ? Feed density to cyclone should be no higher than 30% solids by weight. Hydrocyclone apex tip ? The apex tip on the cyclone should be interchangeable. ? Three apex tips with diameters of 0.188 inch, 0.312 inch and 0.448 inch for the 2 inch cyclone. Slurry pump ? With a 7.5 HP/220 TEFC motor. ? Capacity of 2.7 to 4.7 GPM. Slurry pump ? With a 7.5 HP/220 TEFC motor. ? Capacity of 2.7 to 4.7 GPM. ? Frequency inverter for variable speed of the pump. ? Pinch valve to regulate the flow of slurry. ? Valves to circulate the slurry through the cyclone from the sump Pressure gage ? To monitor the pressure drop across the cyclone. Structure ? Sturdy steel frame with swivel castors for mobility.
