The scope of work for this project consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for slipway construction. Note that the Contractor must incorporate COVID-19 standardized protocols in their site specific Health and Safety Plan. In general, work under this contract will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: 1. Demolition and removal of the existing concrete slabs and wooden haul-outs. All demolition debris to be disposed of at a Provincially approved waste site. 2. Construction of a new slipway using drilled pipe piles, steel caps/beams, and timber decking/runners. 3. Construction of two (2) groynes consisting of filter stone (200-700kg size) and armour stone (3-6 tonne size). 4. Removal of high points (rock removal involving busting and/or drilling/blasting), in the harbour areas fronting the new slipway. FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid or costs to do the work. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply. Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 - Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
