This requirement is for: a Chief Medical Officer of Health for the Correctional Service Canada. Trade agreement: This procurement is not subject to any trade agreement. Nature of Requirements: The Correctional Service Canada (CSC) has a requirement to provide every offender with essential health care, and reasonable access to non-essential health care. CSC is seeking a Chief Medical Officer of Health to provide oversight and leadership for the provision of healthcare across Canada and lead CSC’s National Medical Advisory Committee (NMAC). The NMAC is a constructive partnership representing CSC Primary Care Physicians, Psychiatrists, Dentists, Nurse Practitioners and senior administrative staff collaborating on the advancement of quality health services within CSC. The CMOH works in close collaboration with these regional and national health services team members to support the provision of efficient and effective integrated person-centred care, identify healthcare priorities and issues of concern for CSC, and to promote ongoing collaboration with outside healthcare bodies, including, but not limited to, public health agencies, ministries of health, local hospitals. Deliverables: 1. Supporting provision of efficient and effective integrated person-centred care to promote healthy reintegration of offenders at discharge; 2. Identifying healthcare priorities and issues of concern in CSC; developing, monitoring and revising a healthcare quality plan to include requirements for accreditation; 3. Helping ensure CSC healthcare policies, procedures and standards are up-to-date; 4. Promoting collaboration with outside healthcare bodies (including but not limited to public health agencies, Ministry of health, local hospitals); and 5. Providing leadership, direction and organization to all National Physician Advisors, Regional Physician Leads and Medical Practitioners.
