Notice of Opportunity: THIS OPPORTUNITY CONTAINS A SECURITY REQUIREMENT The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (OCEO) intends to appoint a Commissioner of Canada Elections (CCE) for a ten (10) year term. The CCE plays a key role in safeguarding Canadians’ trust in their democratic process. The Commissioner receives complaints from the public and referrals from the part of the OCEO commonly known as Elections Canada and may initiate a review or investigation as required. In the case of a contravention of the Canada Elections Act, the Commissioner may take compliance or enforcement action, including: imposing administrative monetary penalties; entering into an undertaking or a compliance agreement; or laying charges. Additional evaluation steps may be taken including a written test, making a presentation, and a 360-reference check and as further detailed within the process web portal. Any evaluation will seek to assess the qualifications of the individual candidate. OCEO retains the right to negotiate and please be advised that one sole professional services contract will result from this process. Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
