Competitive Procurement Strategy: lowest priced compliant bid. Nature of Requirements: The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement. The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to provide the services of a psychiatrist to produce psychiatric assessments in the context of release decisions, for the various sites and districts in the Quebec region. Objectives: Provide, as a psychiatrist, psychiatric assessment services to offenders. Deliverables: Within the framework of policies and obligations from Correctional Service Canada regarding the pre-release and post-release decision-making process, certain circumstances require that a psychiatric assessment an inmate be produced. The latest changes to these policies read as follows: In accordance with the policy of the Parole Board of Canada (PBC), a psychiatric assessment will be recommended by a psychiatrist in cases where: An assessment relating to the presence of a mental illness or disorder or the offender's mental capacity, or an opinion on possible treatments, would help to better understand and manage the case; When psychiatric treatment affects the risk of the offender.
