Description:

Description:

The Family Violence Epidemiology Section (FVES) at the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) requires the services of an experienced clinician-scientist who is a recognized authority on family violence, including epidemiology, interventions and service utilization (henceforth, “Contractor”) to support and advance key projects and activities, including work related to COVID-19 and family violence in Canada. Family violence including child maltreatment is an important public health issue and social determinant of health. The FVES at PHAC is responsible for national surveillance of child maltreatment. The Contractor will collaborate with the FVES to support and advance work in three key areas: Provide background research and support engagement activities to help facilitate a minimum of three and a maximum of twelve Child Maltreatment Surveillance and Research Working Group (CMSRWG) meetings; Support the assessment of child/childhood maltreatment measures and safety protocols in Canadian national health and/or social surveys; Conduct COVID-19 and family violence-related work including applying a COVID-19 lens on current and upcoming data sources and creating new COVID-19 targeted surveillance activities and products.
