Failure to complete and provide the COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement Certification as part of the bid will render the bid non-responsive.*** REQUIREMENT: A number of projects within the Aquatic Crop and Resource Development center (ACRD) Halifax rely on microscopic analysis, including but not limited to imaging of fluorescently labelled proteins, plastic beads, as well as the imaging of newly isolated algal strains. The new microscope will be an important asset to the phytoplankton biosensor project in support of the National Research Council (NRC) Oceans Program. Additionally, current and future projects of the "Zebrafish toxicology, genomics and neurobiology" team and the Biotoxin Metrology group demand a high resolution microscope. Overall, research activities focused on microorganisms or subcellular structures need access to a high-resolution microscope for research purposes and the generation of publication grade images. The microscope will greatly increase the capabilities of ACRD's Microscopy Facility in Halifax by providing much higher resolution and allowing the use of a z-stack processing to analyze subcellular localization in much more detail.
