Work Description: Work under this project is for Crack Sealing various locations from km 555 to km 968 of the Alaska Highway, BC. Fort Nelson is located at km 455; Watson Lake is located at km 976. Work includes but is not limited to the following: .1 Repairing transverse and longitudinal cracks and deficiencies on road surface of bituminous surface treatments. 1a)Contractor will clean all defects of all rock, dirt, sand, or other objectionable material. 1b)Contractor will apply asphalt binder as a tack material filling with a mixture of asphalt binder and crushed aggregate. 1c)Contractor shall compact applied Mix. 1d)Contractor will obtain crushed aggregate from a source outside of the jurisdiction of the Alaska Highway. Cost of aggregate will be incidental to the unit price "Crack Sealing". .2 Contractor shall supply and maintain traffic control for the work. .3 Contractor shall provide daily records of the amount of oil sprayed, cubic metres of gravel used, and lineal metres compacted. Reference locations by km posts on the Alaska Highway. Indigenous Consideration: Due to the remoteness and the location of the PSPC operated section of the Alaska Highway which passes through the traditional territories of the First Nations belonging to the Treaty 8 Tribal Association (primarily the southern section of the Highway) as well as the traditional territories of the First Nations belonging to the Daylu Dena Council (primarily the northern section of the Highway), bidders are encouraged to employ the available local workforce and utilize other locally available resources and equipment.
