Description:
The Quebec Laboratory for Environmental Testing (QLET) wishes to acquire a high flow central water purification system capable of providing Type 1 ultrapure water. The QLET currently has 3 central water purification systems, one of which will be replaced by the system covered by this contract. Each of these systems consists of a central water purification system producing Type 2 water (operating with reverse osmosis cartridges), a reservoir, two pumps, and an additional polishing system to produce Type 1 water. Each system is connected to its own distribution loop, allowing to bring the ultrapure water to the sites of use. The system to be replaced is connected to a short distribution loop and mainly serves an industrial washer used for conditioning laboratory glassware. This system is used daily and is of great importance to our laboratory operations. It was purchased in 2004 and is now at the end of its useful life. In order to avoid breakage and problems with the quality of the water used in the laboratory, it is important to replace it quickly.
