NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: 374th Contracting Squadron, Yokota AB, Japan intends to award a sole source purchase order to Battlespace Simulations, Inc. Funds are not presently available for this effort. No award will be made until funds are available. The Government reserves the right to cancel this requirement. Battlespace Simulation will be providing the following: • 1ea Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE) Equipment and Software Battlespace Simulations, Inc. (CAGE: 4KC80) is the only vendor with the rights for MACE. They created the software and hold the license for it. Getting any updates and support for their product, which is currently a part of our training simulator requires purchasing their support. It would be too costly to avoid sole source purchases for this particular requirement since the simulator is designed with this specific software in use. Re-competing the software would require an extremely costly and time consuming effort to redesign the whole system. Continuing the support of MACE through Battlespace Simulations, Inc. is the only option for keeping the software currently in use updated and supported. The anticipated award date is 24 Aug 2022. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the product listed above. Deadline date for the submittals is 19 Aug 22 at 1100 Japanese Standard Time. A determination by the government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The closing date for this notice is19 Aug 22 at 1100 Japanese Standard Time.
