Description:
NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 4, 1010 Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215-1802, intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price Contract to Olympus America Incorporated for the provision of the delivering and installing Two (2 each) Stroboscopy Units and four (4 each) 70d scopes to go along with current Olympus towers within the Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Clinic. Stroboscopy equipment is used for the evaluation of mucosal waves and the pliability of the tissue of the vocal fold cover. Minor alterations in the normal waveform may provide the only sign that there is a mechanical problem. Equipment will be delivered and installed at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive Campus, University Drive C (Building 1), Pittsburgh, PA 15215-1802. The equipment components that shall be delivered for this system are as follows: 1. CLL-S1 : CLL-S1 STROBELED LED STROBOSCOPY SYSTEM (2 each); 2. WA97013A Stroboscopy throat microphone (2 each); 3. WA96100A LARYNGOSCOPE, TELESCOPE 70 (4 each); and 4. WA03310A : Light-guide cable, 4.25 mm, 3 m, CF type (4 each). This contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit from a single source under the procedures in FAR 13.106-1(b) used in accordance with 48 CFR 13.106-1. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334510 with a small business size standard of 1,250 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. Responsible sources may identify their interest by submitting capability information by 4:30 P.M., EST, on Thursday, August 18, 2022, in order to establish the ability of the source to meet this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this notification.
