The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), intends to award a sole source firm fixed priced simplified purchase order to Abbott Laboratories for the purchase of the ARCHITECT Anti-HCV and HIV Ag/Ab Combo assay instruments which are used in the Blood Disorders laboratory. The ARCHITECT Anti-HCV and HIV Ag/Ab Combo assays are chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) for the qualitative detection of IgG and IgM antibodies to Hepatitis C virus (anti-HCV) or qualitative detection of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) p24 antigen and antibodies to HIV type 1 (HIV‑1group M and group O) and/or type 2 (HIV-2) in human serum. Assay results, in conjunction with other laboratory results and clinical information, may be used to provide presumptive evidence of HCV or HIV infection in persons with signs and symptoms of hepatitis or HIV and in persons at risk for hepatitis C or HIV infection. To ensure accuracy of test performed, only specified items, purchased from Abbott Laboratories, can be used with exisiting laboratory equipment. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation /response should be emailed to the Contracting Specialist at lsf7@cdc.gov (CTR) by 4:00PM EST on 08-18-2022. No telephonic quotes shall be considered.
