Original Set Aside:

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a firm-fixed price contract on a one time, sole source basis to: North Star Imaging (NSI), Inc., 19875 S. Diamond Lake Road, Suite 10, Rogers, MN 55374 for the purpose of providing an annual service contract for the NSI X-View X5000 CT system. North Star Imaging Inc. designed, engineered, manufactured, integrated, installed and performed the site acceptance tests for this X5000 CT system. The motion-control firmware residing on this X5000 is coded to meet the FBI’s application specification and is proprietary to North Star Imaging. The image acquisition and reconstruction software applications, including efX-DR and efX-CT are developed by, and proprietary to North Star Imaging exclusively. Maintenance and adjustment/calibration of the system requires intimate knowledge of the X-ray imaging components and their control system (hardware and software interface) as they are configured specifically for X-View X5000 CT system. This requirement will ensure that the X-ray set remains free of contamination and enable monitoring of wearable components minimizing downtime due to unnecessary failures, maximizing equipment performance, and extending the life of the system. The FBI intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.
