Description:


Original Set Aside:

The Air Force intends to solicit the following service: The 76th CMXG is requesting utilization of funds for a one time Spindle Rebuild/Repair. The requested descriptions/specifications are outlined below: 1) The repair contract shall cover the repair of the Monarch/Eumach VMC 2150 spindle cartridge (CAT 50 10000 rpm belt driven w/ TSC). 2) All work shall be in accordance with the OEM's specification which include all work being performed off-site in a temperature and humidity controlled clean room. 3) The spindle rebuild shall include new super-precision bearings (ABEC Grade 7 or DIN P4) from Germany, Italy, or Japan. 4) The bearings shall be preloaded to the correct specification by match grinding the preload spacers. It shall also include checking the drawbar force and repairing if not within specification. 5) The spindle taper shall also be reground if it has more than 0.0002" of run-out. 6) All spindle parts shall be cleaned of corrosion and foreign debris. PR Information Sheet 7) All of the seals and o-rings in the spindle assembly shall be replaced. 8) The rotary union shall be replaced with the OEM's part. 9) The spindle shall be dynamically balanced and ran up to 6000 rpm from 300 rpm in increments of 300 rpm for 15 minutes each in which the temperature and vibration shall be recorded. 10) A warranty shall be in place that ensures the life of the spindle for 1 year. 11) The contractor shall complete the entire contract in 5 weeks. A Firm Fixed Price type contract is contemplated. Estimated Period of Performance: 90 days ARO System for Award Management (SAM) is required to receive any award. Contractors can register electronically at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/. The NAICS code for this requirement is 811310 with a size standard of $8.0 million.
