Description:
The General Services Administration Central Heating and Refrigeration Plant (GSA-CHRP) uses liquid carbon dioxide (CO2) to control the effluent’s pH inorder to meet the specified effluent discharge pH regulation standards. Refrigerant leakage in the 28,000 pounds liquid CLO2 storage tank results in excessive pressure buildup within the tank which causes the safety valve to lift off its sit. Although not at all designed this way, the present condition forces HOTD to charge the storage tank with refrigerant almost every fortnight, depending on the outside temperature. HOTD needs this tank repaired to correct the present condition.
