Original Set Aside:

The use of CREE exterior site lighting system, connectors, and related components are required in order to achieve standardization and interoperability at JBA. CREE LED fixtures provides the required connection and interface to JBA’s lighting control system. CREE is the only provider that fulfills the requirements for the fixtures’ unique appearance, brightness, uniformity, and illumination, required for the JBA parking and street light fixtures. These light fixtures must meet the existing photometric requirements provided by CREE. The existing light fixtures are all manufactured by CREE and all meet the requirement for the application; as mentioned above, Joint Base Andrews has installed 1,000 CREE LED fixtures in the nearby adjacent vicinity. Keeping the CREE manufacturer provides and maintains unique look on the airfield, maintenance scheme, and increased safety in operating at the adjacent airfield and apron. This is essential to maintain and increase safety during daily operations at the adjacent airfield and apron.
