Original Set Aside:

The Air Force is looking for solutions/innovations to provide reliable expeditionary communications for (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, secure and non-secure voice) at remote locations. We are looking for small form factors that have high bandwidth for 1-25 members and that can be expanded to support up to 600 personnel. Here are some of the considerations and attributes the government team is discussing and requesting. Backhaul methods are needed; traditional MILSATCOM and BGAN-type networks don’t provide the bandwidth needed for an expanded footprint Starlink is the buzzword, but it’s a developing market, and other options may be available. Our central router/switch combination is ready, but if we expand past the initial 1-25, then small expansion kits with switches and taclanes would be necessary A solution to link nodes at the same site but over 100ft apart is desired We had an “RFK” at the Combat Comm Sq, it was a point-to-point microwave shot that replaced an ethernet segment. It was awfully big, but the army has pairs that could fit in a shoebox Small cisco call manager compatible voip phones are also desired – they must be PoE with the pass-through network connection so we can link switch-phone-laptop The government is looking for option to get JWICS out at the tactical edge If the solution involves “SCIF-in-a-tent” then the government would need an optical isolation solution for signal cables to that tent and would need to isolate the power source - so a reasonable portable generator would be required Media converters and fiber cables are not known for being “tactical”, if possible exterior grade fiber patch cables on a spool that fits in a backpack-size would be desired Finally, we desire custom-fit locking transit cases for the Voyager ECK and Voyager 2 Slim. If you have information on solutions and innovations, please respond to this RFI with a one-page white paper. The government will consider all solutions/innovations received. The information recieved may be used to develop a government requirement to contract for in the future. Please submit any questions or requests for clarification if needed. In addition, all white papers are requested by the close of business on 17 January 2022. Thank you for your time.
