Original Set Aside:

Pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), the U.S. Army, MEDCOM, Regional Health Contracting Office-Pacific (Joint Base Lewis-McChord Health Contracting Branch), Lacey, WA, intends to issue a sole source award to the Washington State Department of Health for a base period plus four option periods in the estimated amount of $1,077,511.00 for Newborn Screen Services in support of the Department of Pathology, Madigan Amy Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis McChord (Tacoma) WA. Wash. Rev. Code § 70.83.020 requires the Washington State Department of Health to conduct screening tests of each newborn child, born in any setting, within the State of Washington. Each newborn receives certain metabolic screening tests for phenylketonuria and other heritable or metabolic disorders leading to intellectual disabilities or physical defects. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR 6.302-5. This notice is not a request for quote/proposal and no solicitation will be issued. Any firm that believes it can provide the stated supplies/equipment can provide supporting documents demonstrating their products capabilities and specifications.
